This video attempts to define what it means, and the key features that make Web 2.0 a viable marketing tool. Simply, web 2.0 can be defined as internet applications that accommodate sharing and collaboration opportunities to users purposely to enhance their online expression. Technically, it is the business revolution in the online industry, which is a result of the transition to the internet as a platform, as it attempts to understand the success rules on such a new platform. The web 2.0 is the improved version of the first worldwide web whose characteristic is in the change from static to dynamic or user-generated content as well as social media growth.
Some examples of the web 2.0 technology which can be deployed as a marketing tool for any business include hosted services (Google Maps), web applications (Google Docs, Flickr), Video sharing sites (YouTube), wikis (MediaWiki), blogs (WordPress), Microblogging (Twitter), podcasting (Podcast Alley), social networking (Facebook), among many others.

The major difference between web 1.0 and web 2.0 is that web 2.0 websites allow users to create, share, collaborate and communicate their work with others without necessarily requiring any web design skills. Obviously, this is consequential in this present era.
