Simply, a Lookalike Audience is a method of reaching new people who are likely to be interested in your business because of their similarity to the set of best customers you currently have. Creating a Lookalike Audience means you will choose a source audience created with your pixel data and mobile app data or in some cases, the fans of your page. Thereafter, you will determine the similar qualities of these people, that is their demographic information or interests. The goal is to find people who look like (are similar to) them.
Basically, smaller audiences are proven to match your source audience much better closely. While you can increase your potential reach with a larger audience, the consequence of this is that it reduces the level of similarity between the Lookalike Audience and source audience. We would recommend a source audience of about 1000-4500 people because source quality is of utmost importance as well.
