If you can find all of these links, you have a big head start on your competitors because now you know exactly where they’re getting their links. You can try to get those same links for yourself! The information is not an exact science. You can use specific tools to find who’s linking to your competitors. Then it’s how to reach out and get them to link back. Keep in mind that this isn’t easy, nor is it quick. It takes time, hard work, and dedication to rank in competitive niches. It takes even more work, time, and effort to keep the rankings once you have them. It isn’t something that gets done overnight or with one email or phone call.
You don’t just build links to your site anymore; you build relationships too! Keep in mind that you’re reaching out to these sites and asking them to link back. The easiest way to find out your competitor’s backlink sources is probably by going to Open Site Explorer and searching for one of your competitor’s URLs. Once their page comes up, click on the backlinks tab, and you’ll see a list of all their inbound links. Now it’s time to get out and start building some relationships with these sites!
